Baltimore Avenue Mural Dedication Saturday, September 27 at 11am The mural dedication ceremony at 4714 Baltimore Ave will begin at 11am on Saturday, September 27. Join your neighbors and friends in welcoming this vibrant artwork to the community. Light refreshments will be served during the event and at the conclusion a drill team will lead the procession of neighbors and guests up to Cedar Park to "kick-off" the fair at noon.

Cedar Park Neighbors Annual Fall Fair Saturday, September 27 from noon to 5pm The Cedar Park Fair will take place on Saturday, September 27 from noon to 5pm, in Cedar Park located between 49th street and 50th street on Baltimore Avenue, the very heart of the Cedar Park neighborhood. There will be something for everyone! There will be food, vendors, kids' activities, health screening, public service tables, and music and other entertainment all day. The line-up includes Adimu Kuumba, a Drill Team, and The Rays of Hope plus our favorite local DJ Jamar. In addition, there will be a special raffle with a grand prize of "$500 in Fine Dining," with gift certificates from TEN of our favorite local restaurants! PLUS there will be more than 50 other prizes! You can bring your filled out tickets and money with you to the Fair, or you can drop them off at Abbraccio Restaurant (47th and Warrington) in advance. 2008 Inspirational Gardens Awards Last Call for Entries! University City District (UCD), in partnership with UC Green’s network of greening enthusiasts, is pleased to announce the fourth annual University City Inspirational Gardens Awards, and is currently seeking nominations. Because well-tended gardens inspire others, UCD believes garden tenders deserve special praise and recognition. The 2008 awards will honor nominees for outstanding examples of creative gardening approaches. All nominees will be invited to a private reception and recognition ceremony. Entries must be postmarked by Friday, September 26. Those nominating do not have to own the garden or even know the gardener—just inform UCD about a University City garden you enjoy and would like to see commended. Save the Date for the University City Community Cleanup: Saturday, October 25 University City District, in cooperation with the City of Philadelphia, Fairmount Park, CLIP Program and Philadelphia Department of Streets, will assist your block by providing bags, work gloves, and trash/leaf pick up.
