9th Annual Clark Park Fundraiser

Every year, the University City community comes together to raise funds for Clark Park. The Party for the Park has become a tradition, an opportunity for neighbors to enjoy a festive evening for a very good cause. Since 1999, the party has taken place outdoors on the campus of the University of the Sciences, right across the street from the Park. This year, for the first time, threatening weather drove the party indoors but did not dampen the spirits of almost 250 party-goers. The Party netted over $34,000, which will be used for auxiliary maintenance for the Park.

POPPED! Festival Comes to University City

The POPPED! Festival is a 3-day event that occurs annually in Philadelphia. In its second year, POPPED! will use Drexel University, the Trocadero, and World Cafe Live as its venues over three days, June 20, 21, and 22. POPPED! will host globally recognized artists as well as breakthrough local artists, creating lineups each night with unique performances that can only be seen once in a lifetime. In addition to extraordinary entertainment, POPPED! has a focus on sustainability. The Festival will have a focus on being “green” from working with the Sustainable Business Network to cutting the use of plastic bottles, while educating concert-goers on the importance of a sustainable lifestyle.
