A WELCOME ADDITION TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD
We are pleased to announce the new and improved Wine and Spirits store at 4906-08 Baltimore Avenue. SCRIBE VIDEO CENTER TURNS 25
Scribe Video Center is a Philadelphia-based non-profit media arts and education center, founded in 1982, that seeks to explore, develop and advance the use of video as an artistic medium and as a tool for progressive social change. They provide educational workshops in video, film, audio and time-based media production, and sponsor production projects that explore community issues. This year, Scribe is marking its 25th anniversary, and they plan to use this occasion as a way to encourage local digital video artists to create works that use New Media forms (web based projects, locative media, mixed media forms) as creative tools to explore social, cultural and political issues in a new commissioning project entitled eSights, eSounds. This project, which is being supported by the Andy Warhol Foundation, will allow artists to use New Media forms – which can include technologies as varied as cell phone cameras, Internet web sites, and podcasts – as creative tools to explore those stories that most impact our lives here in the Philadelphia region. Scribe is located at 4212 Chestnut Street in West Philadelphia. For more about us visit www.scribe.org or call 215-222-4201.
