(Philadelphia, PA) – Looking for a charming Laotian dinner or a lavish Italian feast? Looking for an avant-garde gallery or world-renowned archaeological artifacts? Looking for busy city streets or quiet residential neighborhoods? Look no further than University City.
University City District (UCD) is pleased to announce the arrival of the 2nd edition of the University City Visitors Guide. This comprehensive guide offers convenient information on arts and culture, dining, lodging, shopping, and attractions all contained in the 2.2 square mile section just west of downtown Philadelphia. The guide is available at hotels and tourist attractions throughout the region.
The guide contains 28 color pages with over 70 restaurants and cafes, 30 galleries, museums and cultural venues, 4-star hotels and Victorian bed and breakfasts, unique shops, and information on residential neighborhoods boasting century old architecture.
“We’re very proud of our new visitor’s guide, which showcases all of the exciting things that University City has to offer,” said Eric T. Goldstein, University City District’s Executive Director. “ The 1st edition was so successful that we wanted to stay with the same popular information while adding additional information and improving the look and presentation.”
Goldstein added, “also new to this version is the addition of over 25 new retail establishments and for the first time, a comprehensive listing of the area’s arts and cultural venues. University City is experiencing unprecedented momentum in these areas and investment is happening at an exceptional rate.”
University City was Philadelphia’s first suburb, and it remains home to distinctive, livable urban neighborhoods of wide porches and tree-lined streets. World-renowned centers of education, medicine, science and technology, and residents of diverse backgrounds lend University City its intellectual and international flavor. It’s a place to make discoveries off the beaten path: a charming, inexpensive ethnic restaurant; a beautifully restored Victorian bed and breakfast; intimate venues to see new visual and performing arts, independent bookstores, historic neighborhoods, and much more.
“We welcome visitors from near and far and hope this guide assists in making each visit an enjoyable, memorable, and inspirational experience,” says Goldstein.
