(Philadelphia, PA) –Prepare to enter "Into the Enchanted Woods" at the 5th Annual Party for the Park – the fundraiser that helps provide maintenance for Clark Park, University City’s largest park and unofficial town green. Organized by University City District and the Friends of Clark Park, the party will be held rain or shine at 43rd Street and Kingsessing Mall, just across the street from the Park. Under the decorated tent will be cocktails, hors d’oeuvres by The Inn at Penn, live music, Gwendolyn Bye and Dancefusion’s fusion2 dancers, and a silent auction. Costumes are welcome, and a prize will be awarded for best costume.

Over the past four years, park advocates and donors have raised significant funds to supplement the maintenance of Clark Park. Thanks to these contributions, the appearance, health, and vitality of the park continue to improve. But, ongoing supplemental maintenance, such as mowing grass, edging walkways, weeding, mulching, fertilizing, and emptying trash cans, cannot continue without continued contributions.

Tickets are $60 for Friends of Clark Park members or groups of 8 or more and $75 for individuals. 100% of the tax-deductible contributions go directly to park maintenance. Tickets can be purchased on line at www.ucityphila.org or by calling University City District. Contact Meridith Sauer at 215-243-0555 x223 or meridith@ucityphila.org for more information. Once again, The Drumcliff Foundation will generously match this year’s ticket sales and contributions dollar-for-dollar up to $20,000.

Thanks to sponsors The Drumcliff Foundation, University City District, University of Pennsylvania, University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, Campus Apartments, Campus Technologies, Allied Security, ARAMARK, CRW Graphics, The Hilton Inn at Penn, Moon Site Management, OneSource, SST, UNICCO, Uniform Gear, and Woodland Building Supply.
