Traffic Advisory from Public Safety: I-76 Weekend Closures
THE FOLLOWING IS A TRAFFIC ADVISORY FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA’S DIVISION OF PUBLIC SAFETY.
ADVISORY:
Please note PennDot has adjusted dates and times for slated construction and lane closures on I-76 for 2008. The below schedule includes the most recently updated time periods for construction, including the added weekend (weather permitting).
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that westbound Interstate 76 in Philadelphia will be restricted to one lane at the University Avenue/Grays Ferry Avenue Interchange (Exit 346B) during the weekends of October 10th –13th, October 31st - November 3rd and November 7th - 10th .. PennDOT will be assisting with all detours.
Future lane closures are also slated to occur in 2009 within this same area and are expected to affect both Eastbound and Westbound directions on I-76. More information will be forthcoming as more specific details are released by the City of Philadelphia.

No lane closures will occur on I-76 for construction on the bridges during the following holidays: New Years, Easter weekend; Memorial Day weekend; Independence Day; Labor Day weekend; Thanksgiving weekend, and Christmas.
