West Philadelphia "Gun Turn-In" and Anti-violence Weekend

WHAT: Press Conference announcing West Philadelphia church sponsored local "Gun Turn-In" and Anti-violence weekend.

DETAILS: -Responding to the increasing number of shootings and homicides in the Millcreek area of West Philadelphia, Millcreek Baptist Church, responding to the safety needs of the community, will sponsor a Gun-Turn and Anti-Violence Weekend, beginning Friday May 30th and ending Sunday, June 1, 2008.  The church will give $50 gift cards to the first 50 people who turn in firearms over the anti-violence weekend.  West Philadelphia politicians will participate in the weekend which will include safety awareness lectures, anti-violence information and activities for young people.  For further information on the anti-violence weekend, call Millcreek Baptist Church at (215) 386-2989.
