UCD Wins Bronze Telly Award for Tourism Video

(Philadelphia, PA) – University City District (UCD) and The Philadelphia Visitors Channel have been awarded a Bronze Telly for the production of their “Left of Center tourism video.  The video, which plays in 14,000 hotel rooms in 46 area hotels, can be viewed online at www.ucityphila.org/video.  Local restaurateur Greg Salisbury of Rx conducts the fascinating two-minute tour of the neighborhood, showcasing the shops, restaurants, entertainment and recreation venues in the area.

Lewis Wendell, University City District’s Executive Director stated, "UCD is pleased to be receiving an award on behalf of the work of our Marketing Department. Narrated by the telegenic Greg Salisbury, the video and the award are both great pieces of publicity for University City.  It is part of our job to let people know about all the wonderful things going on in University City. This award helps bring our neighborhood additional attention.”

The Telly Awards honor the very best local, regional, and cable television commercials and programs, as well as the finest video and film productions, and work created for the Web.  Since 1978, The Telly Awards’ mission has been to strengthen the visual arts community by inspiring, promoting, and supporting creativity. The 28th Annual Telly Awards received over 14,000 entries from all 50 states and 5 continents.   “It’s always a thrill to receive such a prestigious award, but the real credit goes to the marketing staff at University City District for their guidance and to the multi-talented Greg Salisbury from Rx for a terrific performance.  Of course we couldn’t have made it without the brilliant work of VATv’s Director of Photography, Matt Radico and the entire crew from the Philadelphia Visitors Channel,” added Richard Swift Glassman, Creative Director of The Telly Awards.
