UCD Hires New Director of Operations
Philadelphia, PA -- The University City District (UCD), a non-profit special services district in West Philadelphia is pleased to announce the appointment of Dexter M. Bryant as Director of Operations. Mr. Bryant will officially begin his new position on November 1, 2007.
University City District’s Director of Operations is responsible for coordinating and directing the District’s public safety and public space maintenance operations, employing 80 people covering a 2.2 square mile area of the City. Mr. Bryant will further develop collaborative relationships with City agencies, local institutions, and civic groups in an effort to help improve public safety and the maintenance of University City’s public spaces. As part of his purview, he will manage third-party contractual relationships with OneSource and Allied Security, will oversee fee-for-service contracts, and research and implement opportunities to improve UCD’s clean and safe operations and respond to community concerns in the areas of public safety and cleanliness.
Most recently, Mr. Bryant served as Operations Manager for OneSource and was dedicated to the University City District account where he managed 28 union employees and oversaw daily maintenance operations. In his new role, Mr. Bryant looks forward to having a more hands on role with the neighbors and working closely with UCD’s Safety Ambassador program in order to help bridge the gap between the two departments. “I look forward to creating an environment that boosts morale and fosters a friendly and hardworking atmosphere,” said Bryant.
Mr. Bryant lives in West Oak Lane, Philadelphia with his wife Sandra and their three year old son, Ashton. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, sightseeing and spending time outdoors with his family. In addition, he takes pleasure in music, photography, race cars and is an avid drummer.
