The contemporary new Institute was designed by Wesley Wei, an award winning architect and Associate Professor of Architecture at the University of Pennsylvania. The striking interior utilizes materials of stainless steel, glass and eucalyptus wood. A two-story, open atrium features a nine foot custom-designed chandelier as the centerpiece and an artistically crafted metal staircase below that connects the two floors while allowing natural light to flood the lower level. The main floor includes a spacious retail environment with a full range of Aveda Lifestyle products.
University City Jean Madeline is the third and largest of its Institutes, which includes locations in South Philadelphia and Mayfair. Readers of Allure magazine voted Jean Madeline the Best Hair Salon in Philadelphia and named the Caribbean Hand Therapy Treatment the salon’s best amenity. Beauty services at the Jean Madeline Aveda Institute are $16 for shampoo, haircut and style. Coloring begins at $25 and Highlights at $35.
