As one of Philadelphia’s first streetcar suburbs, University City is home to a large collection of Italianate and Neoclassical architecture. The residential neighborhoods of University City offer a variety of distinctive living options: treelined streets, large historic homes with wide porches, luxury lofts, walk-up apartments, and a growing number of condominiums.
University City is comprised of seven neighborhoods with active community associations. These groups are responsible for local zoning, planning, beautification projects, business development, special events, and they add to the rich fabric of this diverse neighborhood.
