About Our Logo

Following much dialogue and deliberation, University City District, with the help of our friends at Kanter International, unveiled our new logo in the summer 2004.

The UCD image offers to create a bridgeable gap in which the viewer has to figure out the abstraction and discover the meaning. At first glance, the new UCD logo looks like an abstract design but, is actually the letters "UCD" stacked vertically in a rectangular box. It speaks to both the intellectual and cultural diversity of the neighborhood. The logo is progressive and unique while the colors promote diversity, fun and an overall funky feeling. It's a bold, smart and ultimately brave logo that sets us apart from city agencies or other special services districts.
